da pixbet: Burnley are on the verge of completing a loan deal to bolster their squad ahead of the January transfer deadline.
da esport bet: Although the club have not won a Premier League game since October and are winless in their last 14 top flight fixtures, the Clarets are yet to sign anybody this winter. This is despite the club sitting 10 points away from safety after 23 games, running a risk of being cut adrift should they fail to find form soon.

Burnley boss Scott Parker noted, ahead of his side’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, that the club were being “active,” saying, as per Sky Sports: “We’re active and we’re trying to do things. I think I’ll reiterate what I’ve said many a time, that obviously, there’s loads of different things that fall into play there, loads of different variables. We need to make good decisions, the right decisions. We don’t want to be adding anyone into this squad that can’t bring quality and help us. Regarding individuals, it’s not something I would be quoting on or certainly saying. We’re active, we’ll see how the next 10 days pan out regarding that really.”
Now, the Clarets are set to sign an experienced body to offer immediate quality to their side.
Burnley set to sign midfielder from relegation rival
As reported by David Ornstein of The Athletic, Burnley are set to sign James Ward-Prowse on loan from West Ham United. A product of the Southampton youth academy, a club he spent 12 years with, Ward-Prowse signed for West Ham in 2023 after Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League.
Ward-Prowse, who has 11 caps for England, was unable to break into the first team at the London Stadium. As a result, he spent much of the 2024/25 season on loan at Nottingham Forest, though struggled for minutes at the City Ground during the reign of then-manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
Later in 2025, the Portuguese took over West Ham and it quickly became evident that Ward-Prowse was, once again, not in his plans. The midfielder has not seen any first-team action with the Hammers for some time, with a departure appearing increasingly likely as January has gone on.

Ward-Prowse is a player with evident quality. Ralph Hasenhuttl, who managed the Saints between 2018 and 2022, once spoke glowingly of the midfielder, saying as per the BBC:
Burnley will hope, no doubt, that the experience of Ward-Prowse will help navigate the club out of the bottom three. Although there is no buy option for the midfielder, who currently earns £115,000 per week, he could prove vital in Burnley’s bid for safety.
